History

SAPROBIONTIC is a German death metal band based in Dresden, Saxony. 
Formed in December 2012 by the guitarists Chris and Daniel, the SAPROBIONTIC became more than a side project for these guys. During the next few months, a couple of songs were written to create their own interpretation of brutal music. In July 2013 a bass player was found in Nadine. She was a great complement to the low tunes as a result of her influences and "galloping" rhythms. A short time later, Maik joined the band to take over the main vocals from Chris and the band was ready to enter the stage.

The first show was played in May 2014 as support for Massacre (US) and Lay Down Rotten. Since that date, SAPROBIONTIC shared the stage with bands like Cryptopsy, Jungle Rot, Disgorge (US), etc. Chris took over the mic again in March 2015, after Maik and Daniel had left the band.

Recorded at City Sound Studios Dresden in April 2015, the debut EP 'BENEATH THE ABYSS' was published by Morbid Generation Records in September of the same year.

After a bunch of exciting shows the band got the opportunity to enter the Soundlodge studio (e.g. Sinister, God Dethroned, Dew-Scented, Cliteater, etc.) in September 2016 to record their first full-length album 'SCIENCE OF WAR' together with Michiel van der Plicht (Pestilence) on the drums and Jörg Uken on the mixer.
Released in March 2017, the album got great reviews from several fanzines around the world.

In spring 2017, SAPROBIONTIC also found a new main vocalist in Sven to complete their lineup.

In December 2019, after several great shows and festivals with bands like Vomitory, Cliteater, Disbelief, Skeletal Remains and many more, Nadine and the band decided to go their separate ways. Nadine was replaced by Peter from our friends and German death metal pioneers Purgatory.

In July 2020, the band recorded their 2nd full-length album 'APOCALYPTIC RETRIBUTION' at the Soundlodge studio, together with Michiel van der Plicht on the drums again.
The band signed with the German extreme metal label Black Sunset/MDD and the album was released in February 2021.
The album also got excellent reviews from fanzines and major print magazines.

During the pandemic, Sven was replaced by Chris on the main vocals. A bunch of festivals were played after this time and new songs were written.

The recordings for the new album 'OF FIRE AND BLOODSHED' began in April 2025 at the Deep Deep Pressure studios in Austria together with Flo Musil (Agrypnie, Theotoxin) on the drums and Lukas Haidinger (Profanity, Distaste) as sound engineer and producer. 
Following the recordings, in order to complete the lineup for the forthcoming shows, the band also hired Loppi from the Czech death metal group Pikodeath as their new lead vocalist that same year.+

In November 2025, SAPROBIONTIC signed with the Swedish extreme metal label Black Lion Records to release the new album in 2026.
